NSW: Attendant shot in the face police

Footage from a security camera shows a service station attendant shot dead during a
bungled robbery in Sydney's south this morning was blasted in the face with a shotgun.

The man, a 31-year-old Indian national, studying for his masters degree at Sydney's
University of Technology is thought to have died instantly.

Police say the incident happened around 5.30am as he was nearing the end of his overnight
console operator shift at the Mobil service station on the Kings Way at Woolooware.

His body was discovered by a customer who walked into the outlet about 10 minutes later.

Detectives are examining graphic footage of the shooting.

In the meantime, police have appealed for information on the whereabouts of a white
Holden car, believed to be the killer's getaway car and last seen heading west towards
Miranda.
