CUOMO PROMISES PRESCRIPTION-DRUG BILL THIS TERM.(Local)

Gov. Mario M. Cuomo promised Tuesday that a prescription-drug bill for the elderly would be approved by the end of his term, in an address to the Statewide Senior Action Council, meeting in the Holiday Inn.

"I think it will happen," Cuomo told the group. "Before I'm through with this term you will have a prescription- drug bill."

Cuomo also got a surprise endorsement in Saratoga from Clifton Park town Supervisor Kevin Dailey, a Republican.

"I would urge everyone in Saratoga County to vote for our governor," Dailey said, in a brief encounter with Cuomo after the dinner.
