VIC:Fake Census collector stabs woman in home

Police are urging residents to check the identification of census collectors and any
salespeople before opening their security doors following a spate of attacks.

In the latest incident, a woman has been stabbed in her Melbourne home by a man posing
as a census collector.

Wielding a knife, the man forced his way through the front door of her North Geelong
home and demanded cash.

The 33-year-old woman suffered minor injuries to her neck during the attack.

On Saturday, a celebrity milliner was kneed in the groin and twice punched in the face
after answering the door of his Sydney home to a man claiming to be a census collector.

A similar incident occurred in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton earlier this month.
