NSW: 61-year-old man charged over alleged school sex offences
SYDNEY, Dec 16 AAP - A former teacher at a NSW boarding school has been charged with
child sex offences, while a second former teacher was released pending further inquiries,
police say.
Two men, aged 60 and 61, were arrested in Sydney on Tuesday morning as part of an investigation
into claims of indecent assault on students at St Stanislaus Catholic College at Bathurst.
The 61-year-old man has been charged with aggravated sexual assault on a child under
16 years, assaulting a child with intent to have sexual intercourse and three counts of
aggravated indecent assault.
He was granted bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on December 19.
The 60-year-old man was released pending inquires, police said in a statement.
On Monday, a 47-year-old former dormitory master at the school was charged with two
counts of indecently assaulting a male under 16.
He is also due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on December 19, along with three
other men arrested earlier this year.
They include St Stanislaus' former principal, vice-principal and chaplain.
