Fed: Nurses join TV ad campaign against IR laws

The Australian Nursing Federation will join the increasing number of groups taking
to the nation's television screens to campaign on industrial relations.

Nurses fear the federal government's IR laws will have a negative impact on them ..

and will say so in a four-week campaign.

The ANF joins the ACTU .. the government .. the ALP .. and business groups .. in offering
its views on IR laws .. as the nation heads towards a federal election.

ANF federal secretary GERARDINE KEARNEY says her union has the simple message that
Work Choices will take away the vital rights and entitlements of nurses.

Ms KEARNEY says there also will be a negative impact on the recruitment and retention
of nurses .. and an inevitable effect on health care in Australia.
